Nežka Prosenjak is a Slovenian classical percussionist based in Switzerland, regularly performing as a soloist, orchestra musician, and artistic collaborator in various groups and settings, with a particular focus on marimba performance. Nežka began her musical  ducation at age nine at the local music school in Ravne na Koroškem, Slovenia. She went on to study at the Maribor Conservatory of Music & Ballet, completing her education there in

2014, and continued her studies at the University of Music & Performing Arts Graz and the University of the Arts Bern, with a focus on contemporary, orchestral, and solo performance. She is a Marimba One Premier Artist.

Over the years, she has won numerous national and international awards, including 1st prizes at the Italian Percussive Arts Society International Competition (2017) and “Malletlab” (2018), and 3rd prize at “Marimba Festiva Bamberg” (2018). She has also been awarded the Dr. Karl Böhm Stipendium (2018), presented by the City of Graz and was selected to participate in the renowned TROMP International Percussion Competition, one of the most

esteemed percussion events globally. In 2019, Nežka joined the World Percussion Group on their European tour, further expanding her international presence. She has performed in countries such as Germany, Austria, the USA, Spain, Croatia, Serbia, England, Scotland, and Portugal. One of the highlights of her career was premiering Ivan Trevino’s marimba piece at PASIC in Indianapolis (2018).

Currently, she is a member of the Swiss Orchestra and performs with ensembles like Collegium Novum Zürich and the Bern Symphony Orchestra, where she completed an internship in 2021/2022. She also held a residency with the National Slovenian Opera Maribor as the orchestra’s percussionist. With a strong commitment to new projects

and collaborations, marimba performance remains at the core of her artistic endeavors.
