Within the competition disciplines above, the participants of the competition will be divided into categories according to the year of birth, namely:
Junior Category – one piece or more, up to 4 minutes
I. Category – two pieces or more, up to 6 minutes
II. Category – three pieces or more, up to 9 minutes
III. Category – three pieces or more, up to 12 minutes
In all disciplines and categories, competitors can perform pieces for woodwinds solo and pieces for woodwinds with piano accompaniment (performances with audio tape are not allowed!). For pieces with piano accompaniment, a piano is available in the hall.
Instead of pieces, competitors in all competition disciplines and categories can perform individual movement from cyclic compositions (concerts, sonatas and others). It is also permitted to perform arrangements of compositions originally written for other instruments or instrumental bands.
Competitors and mentors are advised to choose a technically and character-diverse repertoire, with which each participant in the competition presents himself as comprehensively as possible.
NEW! Competition participants have the option to hire the official accompanist of the competition. The accompanist is available for participants on all instruments and in all categories. The fee includes a pre-competition rehearsal, a soundcheck in the hall, and the competition performance.
